Comfort is at the core of everything we do at This Is J. That’s why this year, we’re launching The Comfort Series. Once a month, we’ll be sharing a Q&A with a member (or members) of our comfort-loving community. We’ll ask them about what being cozy means to them, find out what their wellness and sleep rituals are like, and get personal about their work and life.
Q & A with Cat & Nat
With two bestselling books, an iHeartRadio award-nominated podcast, a live tour and seven kids between them…the witty, hilarious duo, Cat & Nat know a thing or two about lack of sleep, winding down and the insane balancing act often required to be both an entrepreneur and a mom. Through their virally famous #MOMTRUTHS videos which have garnered hundreds of millions of views, Cat & Nat (hilariously) dismantle the unrealistic portrayals of motherhood and womanhood that are often portrayed in the media . Having interviewed everyone from Chelsea Handler to Kristen Bell, Cat & Nat are our fave online besties for sharing everything moms think but are too afraid to talk about.
We’re so excited to bring you this Q&A with Cat & Nat.
What does comfort mean to you?
Comfort is being home with our families...well, that and being alone together, without our families…at hotel bars 😜. No but seriously, with so much on the go and our travel schedule, there’s nothing quite like the feeling of being home with our people and our pups.
You've had the opportunity to interview some pretty big names on your podcast, who has been your favourite interview thus far?
It’s so hard to pick considering each guest brings something totally different to the table. We learn from and connect with everyone we meet and interview in so many unique ways. Choosing would be like picking our favourite kid and honestly, our "Thursday Guest" podcasts would be nothing without each and every one of them. But, ok fine: Chelsea Handler.
Are you team PJ set or team Nightie? And what’s your This Is J pajama style of choice?
Nat - PJ set all the way. I love the Henley Harem set and own it in 4 colours!
Cat - I’m a nightie gal for sure and really love the Tank style the most.
What's the first thing you do when you walk through your door at the end of the day?
Race to the toilet as we have been avoiding public bathrooms all day long.
What's the most important thing you look for in sleepwear?
Soft, lightweight and stretchy with a cute pattern. We LOVE This Is J jammers for their comfort, their cuteness and their quality.
Do you have a bedtime routine? If so, what do you do to prep for sleep?
Nat - fun little fact: I NEVER go to bed without taking a warm bath first. Then, straight into my cozy jammers and into my soft, clean bed
Cat - love a warm shower before bed. Also: the earlier the better!
What’s the most embarrassing thing you’ve done on-air / on IG? Willing to share?
If there was something we would share it. Can't think of anything. After 7 kids and lots of "mistakes" it's hard to feel embarrassed anymore. #noshame.
When was the last time you stayed in jammers all day (AKA had the best day ever)?
Probably 15 years ago! This is one of life’s little pleasures that literally never happens when you are a mom! As our kids’ glorified chauffeurs, we’re never home long enough to enjoy a PJ all day, day but we’re exceedingly jealous of anyone who manages to pull this off!
What’s it like working with your bestie?
It’s never lonely, never boring and always fun. It’s so much easier to take risks when you are right beside your bestie and taking risks makes the days so exciting. We love what we do and are so grateful to do it together!
At what time of day do you get your best work done?
After school drop off and before lunch. Literally, the only time we are alone.
Who has been your most important professional mentor?
All the women who have gone out of their way to share their successes, connections AND struggles with us with nothing asked in return. Women have been beyond generous and open with us throughout this journey and we are forever grateful to each and every one of them.
Are you ladies go out and dance on tables or stay in and stay cozy type of people?
Can't we be both ?? We’d like to consider ourselves 90% cozy, 10% wild animals.
How did you discover This Is J?
A friend of Nat’s introduced us to the brand and we’ve been obsessed ever since!
If you could go back and give your 18-year-old selves one piece of advice, what would it be?
We would tell ourselves that there is no ONE way to be successful and that non-traditional education and experience can lead to some really exciting and lucrative opportunities.
Keep up with Cat & Nat
